you know, I was planning to return the Neo after writing this blog post but I never did. I'm typing on it right now. I have a machine with 6x the memory in the other room but I just adore this anemic lil doodad 🥺 https://samhenri.gold/blog/20260312-this-is-not-the-computer-for-you/

Evening Twters.
Curry night with @woe2you has been faithfully observed.
We are both very full of dinner. And very very tasty it was too.
We suffered a 'misnap' earlier and didn't get up til 7pm, hence the lateness!
Nap
Or nap not
There is no misnap
Holy fuck what was that? One very very close explosion. I hope that was just a firework and nothing major.
@quixoticgeek One can only hope it was another datacenter.

Kraftsport machen und währenddessen den Burger Dance anhören ist eine surreale Erfahrung.
Glaube, in Berlin werden heute ein paar sehr gute Partys gefeiert. <3
The best research mathematicians are protesting the quality of the LLM-generated proofs making headlines these days. They say that while the proofs may pass automatic checking software, the work is beyond inelegant; it’s nearly impossible to reason about.
This is how a programmer would describe spaghetti code that somehow works but bears heavy technical debt.
The discourse about Anthropic’s new source code control system makes it clear that the top AI companies are creating oceans of code, and the “labs” can’t stop bragging about how few lines of code are being written by humans.
Forget about the inscrutable weights; how reliable, how stable, how “good” is the Python, CUDA, or whatever language in those repositories?
Well that's not good 😟
RT: @lisaocarroll Just went to see NAZA. If you feel you can’t bear to see more horror right now this may persuade you
This is not another news film showing atrocities in Gaza
It is interviews with whistleblowers in intelligence elite in Tel Aviv
Everyone in power should go see it.And reflect.
@jeffjarvis one of the few documentaries I’ve seen that left me more confused than when I started it
@jonathankoren

Two bits of advice for US voters going into the midterms:
1. If you can, vote early. You will save campaigns one door knock to get out your vote.
2. Make a plan to vote right now. For example, my early voting place is 500 Federal St in Troy and I'm planning to go next Saturday after I visit the farmer's market.
The interesting counterpoint to that has been the reaction to data centers and to license plate readers.
It may be better to say that the US has a culture we’ve forgotten how to get angry and organize ourselves. But, roughly speaking, if people are drawn out of their house and congregate someplace something much more familiar happens. You see people showing up at city council meetings to have their say.
